Karim BEN BÉCHER
Karim Ben Bécher is a Minister Plenipotentiary First Class since 2016. He holds a DEA in History from the University Paris IV-Sorbonne and is a former student of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris. He has served as Deputy Consul General in Rome, then as Head of Division in charge of cooperation with the WTO. In 2002, he was appointed Deputy Director of Cooperation with trade organizations, and in 2003, he was assigned to the Tunisian Embassy in Madrid as an economic and commercial counsellor. In July 2011, he was promoted to Ambassador to the Netherlands and Denmark with residence in The Hague, and Representative of Tunisia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the ICC. In 2016, he became Director General for Africa and African regional organizations. In 2021, he was appointed Ambassador of Tunisia to Cameroon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Sao Tome and Principe with residence in Yaoundé. Fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish, Italian, and French, he is an Officer of the National Order of Merit and a Grand Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
